The central sphere wasn’t conceived as a planet at first, but as a compressed memory, a world pushed into being by the same forces that shape people: heat, collision, and time. As the layers of spray paint built up, the form started behaving like a celestial body — something ancient, scarred, and quietly alive.

The surrounding nebula came from the idea that every world, real or imagined, sits inside a cloud of its own history. The neon pigments, only visible under UV, act like hidden signals — traces of energy that exist but aren’t meant to dominate the scene. They’re the afterglow of events you can’t fully see, only sense.

The title, Nebula et Orbis (“Cloud and Sphere”), reflects that duality:
a world defined not just by its surface, but by the atmosphere of stories around it.

Orbiting the Aurora — Mixed media on canvas L51cm x W40cm

Three planets float against a deep, star-speckled void: a fiery red globe, a cool blue world, and a smaller purple orb with marbled texture. A luminous aurora-like nebula sweeps across the lower plane in green and molten orange, introducing motion and atmospheric depth. Delicate specks of starlight and subtle surface texture on each planet reveal layered paintwork and scale, reinforcing a feeling of cosmic discovery. This piece presents a bold, dramatic composition that works beautifully as a focal point — a striking addition to your space.

My work depicts imagined cosmic environments as a way of probing perception: how colour, scale, and surface can reframe distance into intimacy. I am drawn to the formal contrast between geometric bodies and fluid nebular fields, using that contrast to examine tension—order beside turbulence, arrested motion beside suggestion of flow. Sources of inspiration include astronomical photography, mid‑century science fiction illustration, and abstract colour studies; these inform a visual language that presents the cosmos as a site for emotional and spatial inquiry rather than literal depiction. A recurring, nearly concealed motif is a pattern of triangles derived from a printed page of the code used in the first Moon landing—embedded at the underlayer so it rarely reads directly, it functions as a human-technical trace connecting historical computation to speculative landscapes.

Technically, each work is built in layers. Broad sprayed fields establish an atmospheric ground; masked orbs are formed and then distressed or textured to suggest planetary geology; spatter and fine glazing create discrete star fields and soft halos. Colour relationships—warm versus cool, saturated versus muted—drive composition and imply relational dynamics between forms. Repetition of motifs (orbs, bands of colour, pockets of void, and the subtle triangular grid) across the corpus creates a steady grammar for experimentation.

Across the body of work these images reveal ongoing questions about scale, memory, and presence: how a small, luminous element can alter the perception of an entire field, and how surface and colour can make unfamiliar phenomena legible and immediate. The work insists on a dialogue between recorded human endeavour and the imagination of distant places.

Stargazers - Mixed media, Neon/UV paint on canvas W40cm x L31cm This one tells a story of two star-crossed lovers under the same moon, starring out into the vastness of infinite possibility.
